Child Development
Where our community’s kids learn, grow, and thrive
The Tom Hargrove & Anita Grover, MD Child Development Center at the New Canaan YMCA supports our community’s families through child-care programs for children ages 6 weeks through sixth grade.
Each of our child-care programs works to develop the whole child: socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically, and to provide children with the opportunity to learn and grow, while taking advantage of all our Y has to offer. Our qualified staff provides an engaging, nurturing, and supportive environment for each of our children and families.
For additional information about one of our child development programs, contact Cathy McClure, Childcare Director at 203-920-1613 or by email.
Our full-day child-care program for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. Each classroom is led by experienced and nurturing teachers and features a theme-based curriculum, including a preschool setting for our three and four-year-olds.
Kids Unlimited is our after-school program for Kindergarten through 6th grade. KU provides a safe and engaging after-school environment filled with tons of fun activities, use of the Y’s facilities, and homework assistance.
School Vacation Camp offers a fun day at the Y on days off from school. Grades K-6 enjoy a day filled with special activities, swimming, games, and more!
