Where the Community Comes Together

The New Canaan YMCA is a nonprofit organization designed to strengthen and support our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  When you belong to the Y, you’re a part of something special.  You belong to a community where all ages, abilities, and backgrounds come together and support each other.  Members of the New Canaan YMCA not only have access to high-quality facilities, classes, and programs, but also make lasting relationships and remain connected to others in our community.

There are so many reasons to belong to the Y!

Where the Community Comes Together From preschoolers to seniors, the Y is where lasting friendships are made and where friends come together to connect, have fun, and support each other.
Building Healthy & Happy Kids Through a wide range of programs, classes, activities, and teams, the New Canaan YMCA is where our community’s kids come together to build confidence, make friends, develop healthy habits and strong character, and most importantly, have fun!
Supporting Your Physical & Mental Health The recently renovated New Canaan YMCA is home to state-of-the-art fitness and aquatics facilities, 75+ group exercise classes each week, plus fun programs for all ages, abilities, interests, and goals. Support your physical and mental health by staying active and belonging to one of the largest and most supportive communities in town!
Become a Part of Something Good The Y is one of New Canaan’s largest charity organizations. When you belong to the Y, you support an organization that awards over $250k in financial assistance each year, provides meaningful and life-changing programs for those with special needs, chronic disease, and cancer survivors, and is always here for our community.

Our Three Areas of Impact

Youth Development

Youth Group

We are committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Each year, nearly 6,000 kids come to our Y to have some fun. While they’re here, they are also developing character-building values, discovering new skills, and forming relationships within our community.

Healthy Living

Our goal is to improve our community’s health and well-being. Our Y supports physical and mental health, brings families closer together, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun, and shared interests. The Y promotes a supportive and inclusive environment, offering programs and activities for all ages, abilities, goals, and interests.

Social Responsibility

Since 1954, the New Canaan YMCA has always been here for our community.  Through programs, facilities, and support, our community can always count on the Y.

The Y also provides opportunities for our community members to give back and make a difference themselves.  Whether as a volunteer or donor, our members have the opportunity to join the Y’s cause of making our community stronger together.
