The New Canaan YMCA proudly introduced its new Community Cupboard in 2025, a year-round satellite location for food donations in partnership with the New Canaan Food Pantry.
The Community Cupboard, located within the Y’s main entrance, is accessible during the facility’s operating hours, making it easy for residents to give back throughout the year. Food donations are delivered directly by the Y to the New Canaan Food Pantry’s primary drop-off location, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, ensuring that local families in need receive timely and reliable support.
The Y’s Community Cupboard accepts non-perishable, shelf-safe food items and offers a suggested themed grocery list each month. Community members are encouraged to donate items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, sauces, peanut butter, cereal, spices, and other essential pantry staples.

It’s the Community Cupboard’s One-Year Anniversary! Let’s celebrate by collecting 100 cans!
It’s been a year since we launched our satellite New Canaan Food Pantry drop-off location, and together, we have donated over 2,000 items to families in need. Please join us in our anniversary can collection, and together, we CAN make a difference!
Of course, any other non-perishable food donation is much appreciated. Please place your food donations in the Community Cupboard located in the front entrance vestibule. Thank you for your support!
