WHERE THE COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER

The Y features a variety of areas for all ages to stay active and connect. From it’s three-pool Aquatics Center to the Kid Zone, Dante’s Café to the Gymnasium, the Wellness Center, Zone, Group Exercise Center, and more, the Y offers so many ways for the community to come together.

Along with our beautiful facility and variety of high-quality programs, our biggest resource is our caring and experienced staff. Our Y hires qualified and compassionate wellness professionals who enjoy helping others. Each of our staff is trained and hold certifications in their respective areas of expertise.

Aquatics Center

The New Canaan YMCA’s Aquatics Center includes three beautiful pools.  The Valles Pool (competition pool) is our coolest pool designed for lap swimming, competitive swimming, and includes a diving well.  The Forese Family Pool features two warmer pools including a lap pool and the Scooter Pool.  These pools are perfect for those who prefer warmer water for lap swimming and therapy swimming.  The Forese Family Lap & Scooter Pools are also home to our water group exercise classes, swim lessons, and free swim.

The New Canaan YMCA is proud to offer competitive aquatics teams including the Caimans Competitive Swimming and Whirlwind Diving teams.

Water is a wonderful, supportive environment to exercise in. Athletes have been using water exercise for years to rehab injuries or to cross-train for their sport. The great thing about water exercise is the ability to use the properties of water to vary the intensity of a workout thereby making it a wonderful form of exercise for all ages and abilities.

To let you experience this for yourself, we offer water exercise classes taught in our Forese Family Scooter Pool. If you have any questions about Water Exercise Classes or you need help getting started, please contact Tetiana Kokorska, Group Exercise Director, at 203-920-1636 or by email.

Cycling Center

Members ages 10-13 may attend cycling classes with a parent, but they must meet height requirements in order to participate.

We have 31 Stages Cycle Bikes. Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis. Please come early to set up your bike, and bring a water bottle and towel to all Cycling classes. Comfortable workout clothing along with padded bike shorts or pants are the recommended attire for a class. It is important that you choose the proper footwear for Cycling. Shoes with stiff soles, such as cross-trainers, court shoes, light hiking shoes, or cycling shoes (with or without SPD clips) are best. If you have any questions about Cycling or you need help getting started please contact Tetiana Kokorska, Group Exercise Director, at 203-920-1636 or by email.
