The New Canaan YMCA proudly awarded nearly $200,000 in financial assistance this past year thanks to the generous support of donations, continuing the organization’s commitment to providing every individual the opportunity to benefit from the Y regardless of financial circumstances.
Financial assistance assures that hundreds of families and individuals facing financial hardship have opportunities for YMCA experiences. Donations make it possible for the Y to provide financial support for memberships and program fees, benefiting families and individuals of all ages from kids to seniors.
“Receiving financial assistance to join the New Canaan YMCA has been a game-changer. The facility’s range of activities and welcoming environment have allowed me to decompress from work and school. Regular workouts and engaging classes became a source of stress relief, boosting my mood and energy levels. The sense of community was invaluable, reducing feelings of isolation. I have discovered new hobbies, improved my physical health, and found a supportive space to enhance my overall well-being. Being able to continue my membership aligns with my personal growth and happiness,” shared a recent financial assistance recipient.
Financial support from the New Canaan Y’s donors makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many, providing adults with the opportunity to maintain both physical and mental health, providing seniors with the opportunity to remain physically active and socially connected, providing safe and reliable childcare to working families, and providing children with the opportunity to build confidence and character, make lasting friendships, develop healthy habits, and have fun through programs such as swim lessons, summer camp, sports, social activities, competitive teams, special needs programs, and leadership opportunities.
